What is CHIROPRACTIC ?
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the musculoskeletal system and nervous systems in concert. Chiropractic care is about seeing the body as a whole: it is NOT just about your back. Physical treatments center on improving mobility, balance, and resilience. This means addressing pain and movement impairments from a root cause perspective.
Chiropractic treatment is not limited to injury and pain. A wellness visit with a Chiropractor is a time to have a health professional assess your baseline, provide helpful feedback for maintaining good habits, and highlight any areas of concern. Whether you are a world class athlete, weekend warrior, or simply want to play with your kids-- we'll make sure you can continue doing the things you love, comfortably.
"If you're tired of the revolving door of traditional chiropractors, and you'd like to understand the WHY of what's going in your body, The Facility is where it's at. They represent what I wish was easier to find - smart, evidence based, quality care."

Chiropractic Services & Terms - defined
We use a lot of buzzwords, and we forget that sometimes you (non-medical nerds) might not know what that means. Here's your brief guide to different chiropractic modalities (aka treatment types)--
Adjustment / Manipulation
All that cracking and popping you think of when you think of a chiropractor. We use adjustments on the neck, mid back, low back, hips, and essentially ANY joint. It's a chance to mobilize restrictions within a space.
Insertion of small gauge needles into an area. We may or may not use electric stimulation on the needles. Sometimes, manual motion is enough. Dry Needling increases blood flow to an area, for faster healing and pain relief.
We use a stainless steel blade to scrape the skin and fascia tissue. This brings blood flow (and consequently, nutrients) to the area. Graston may be used on various areas of the body.
Cups are placed on the skin surface and a vacuum is created to pull fascia and skin away from the body. Unlike most manual therapies, this works in opposition to pressure- actually allowing MORE space between layers of fascia. Cupping leaves crazy marks, but they don't hurt!
Mobility is about range of motion, ability to get into positions without limitation, and adequate engagement of muscles. Often, limited mobility translates into aches, pains, and even injury. We spend a lot of time improving mobility with passive stretching as well as active movement patterns. When? Most of this work is done at-home. We'll teach you in the clinic, and follow-up with specific exercises through the online portal.
The Webster Technique is used on pregnant women as a release of the round ligament in the later months of carrying a child. Why? Pregnancy Chiropractic is as much about keeping the mom comfortable as it is supporting proper fetal position for delivery. When? Chiropractic needs during pregnancy varies by woman, and by gestational week. Many women start out with monthly care, and increase frequency closer to birth.
Active Release Therapy (ART) is a patented soft-tissue therapy similar to deep tissue massage. With ART, we isolate affected areas while encouraging movement. Why? This directed pressure hold breaks up scar tissue while forcing the associated muscles through normal range of motion. When? Great for when you have that "pinch-right-there" type of feeling.
Diagnostic Imaging can include X-rays, MRI, Ultrasound, and CT Scans. We direct order images as needed for acute injuries, and interpret results in the clinic to direct follow-up care. This option allows us to circumvent insurance requirements and get the data you need sooner; often at significantly less cost.
Forget what you know about Chiropractors...
At The Facility, Chiropractic Medicine cannot be "put in a box" -- your treatment will depend on your presentation, expectations, and goals. With that, a single visit may include various modalities including adjustments/manipulations, electrical stimulation, active release, cupping, Graston Technique, Dry Needling, and corrective exercise. We operate outside of insurance networks so we are free to treat you as YOU, not as a diagnosis.
Our philosophy is that EVERYTHING is connected, EVERYTHING matters, and EVERYBODY is different. We do not have pre-designed 'plans'. Your treatment will depend on assessment at the initial visit.
