Kate Daugherty, MS, CNS
Functional Nutrition Specialist
Katelyn Daugherty holds a Masters of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States. She is a founding member of The Facility and serves as Head Lifestyle Nutritionist and Metabolic Coordinator for the practice. She is currently pursuing her Certification at the Institute for Functional Medicine.
Kate grew up in Virginia, but always knew she’d settle in Colorado. She began her training at Washington and Lee University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. After graduating, Katelyn moved to Colorado to live in the mountains and play: hiking, biking, and skiing. She then found a career in Intraoperative Neuromonitoring, performing EEG and EMG for Spine and Brain procedures.
She became interested in nutritional and functional medicine while watching patients failed by the conventional medicine system. She realized that pharmaceuticals and surgeries did not adequately address their underlying medical and psychological concerns and began looking beyond the conventional model of medicine for answers.
Katelyn joined Dr. Rasmussen’s approach to gain the freedom to help her patients at deeper levels. She continues to grow and develop as a health care provider who is constantly learning new skills and tools and who delights in sharing these learnings with patients.
Always interested in her own personal health, Kate feels that by creating wellness in her life she can better understand her patient’s experiences. She loves to cook, loves puzzles, and never tires of exploring Colorado’s small towns.
